About the event
Feminist foreign policy (FFP) provides an exciting framework to advance implementation of the Platform for Action. FFP is a growing field, with 16 governments who have at some point committed to an explicitly feminist approach across foreign affairs, trade and development policies. In the Asia and Pacific regions, the Government of Mongolia has expressed interest in incorporating FFP into its approach and civil society groups are furthering these discussions, with particular focus on ensuring the concepts are contextualized to this region. This side event will share lessons from global dialogues and regional processes in order to further discussions on a regionally contextualized feminist foreign policy approach for Asia and the Pacific region. This session is co-organized by the Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative, the International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA), CREA, Fiji Women’s Rights Movement, The Asia Foundation and Gender and Development for Cambodia.
